get to know the girl behind the camera.
Hi there! I am Brooke!
I am a portrait photographer based in Northwest Indiana. I started my small business in 2015 and have been working hard to keep my dream a full time career ever since. Photography has always sort of been a part of my life. Professionally? No. But, I have always loved having a camera in my hands. The thought of being able to freeze time and have something to look back on has always just amazed me. When I was younger I loved playing with my dad’s digital camera which then led to my parents buying me my very own. After that, I was in love. I mean, I used to put bed sheets on the wall as backdrops and pretend I had my own studio!
I graduated from Purdue University Northwest (Class of 2020) with a bachelor’s degree in communications and two minors: advertising and visual communications! Yay! This allowed me to take on my business as a full-time career and well… here I am!
I have a specific vision when working with all of my clients and I always set 3 goals for myself…
1.PROVIDE A LAID BACK ENVIRONMENT
I want you to have the most laid back and care free experience when working with me. Let’s not stress about looking absolutely perfect in front of the camera and just be you. Instagram likes? Ehhh, not as important as we all make it out to be. Let’s bring social media and photos back to being causal. Doesn’t mean we won’t look good or like the outcome, just means less stress and more authenticity.
2.MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOUR BEST SELF
I will be there to help you every step of the way when we are shooting and I want you to not worry about anything, but just being you. I will be your biggest hype-woman and I want you to be able to recognize yourself in the end results. I wanna showcase who YOU really are and not mold you into a group. Everyone is unique and so everyones photos should showcase who they are as an individual.
3.HAVE FUN
This is crazy that I want to make this one of my goals right?? Like we have to try and have fun?? Nowadays everyone is so concerned with making sure every aspect of their photoshoot is flawless and they forget that they should just have fun with it. At the end of the day, it is just a photo. Nothing to try and make perfect or portray as something else. Going the unconventional route, will help us hold on to the fun photoshoots are supposed to bring and will create more authentic moments to look back on!
